Our structure for school counseling follows the American School Counselor Association National Model.
Goal:
We provide a comprehensive school counseling program that promotes and enhances our students' academic, career, and social-emotional development. Working with families, staff, and community members, school counselors advocate for equity, access, and success for all students.
Confidentiality:
Professional School Counselors keep information confidential unless disclosure is required to prevent clear and imminent danger to the student or others or when legal requirements demand that confidential information be revealed. (ASCA, A.2, Ethical Standards)
Regarding Referrals:
Referrals to resources beyond the school district are being provided as a convenience and for informational purposes only; they do not constitute an endorsement or an approval by the Washoe County School District of any of the products, services or opinions of the corporation or organization or individual.
Supporting Mental Health:
Check out Connect Washoe County for information and resources regarding youth and teen mental health.
Bruin Visits!
Bruin Visits are voluntary meetings designed to build relationships between equal partners, so that the most important adults in a child’s life, at home and at school, can work together to support the child’s learning and growth. Libby Booth ES has been given the opportunity to participate in our WCSD Home Visit program. A Bruin Visit is when your child’s teacher or staff member visits your home to learn more about your family and your culture. It is also a chance for your teacher to meet you and any other people living with you, like brothers and sisters. It is simply a time for us to bond and learn more about one another. If you would be comfortable inviting a school staff member into your home, please reach out to Mrs. Tolbert, School Counselor, at Libby Booth ES. For more information, check out the PTHV site on WCSD website at: https://www.washoeschools.net/domain/1771

¡Visitas Bruin!
