Dear DDES Families,
We have postponed the multi-track random draw event until February 1st, at 6:00pm. This week, we will be sending home a card to your oldest child enrolled here at DDES. On the card, you will find a household identification number. This is the number that will be used to identify your family during the random draw event. Meaning, when the results are displayed, you will need the household I.D. number to find your families track placement (all siblings will be placed on the same track color). This is in an effort to keep all families information confidential. If you are unable to attend the event next week, we will be mailing home your families track placement.
Tomorrow, is the deadline for submitting the track preference form. Please contact the office if you still need to do so.
As always, please call the office with any questions at 850-6212.
Several of our staff members will begin hosting before and after school support for students. The purpose is to provide opportunities for students to receive extra support, or enrichment opportunities. A notice will be coming home today with further details. If you are interested in having your child attend, please send back the form. Depending on the amount of interest we receive, a schedule will be created to accommodate as many students as possible. Next Friday, February 17th, letters will be sent home to students that are able to attend with the specific schedule and teacher contact. The program will then begin Tuesday, February 21st.
If you have any further specific questions, please send an email to one of our staff:
Kyle Kimber at email@example.com
Jim Frost at firstname.lastname@example.org
Summer Thorson at email@example.com
We have recently purchased an online reading program called, Reading Eggs. Each student will have the opportunity to access this tool at home or at school. A generic letter will be sent home introducing the program to families. Students login's will be sent once they are set-up. My favorite part of the program that I use with my son, is the library. You can choose books at a specific reading level that includes questions at the end. Check it out!

Dear Parent or Guardian,
We will be conducting the Multi-Track Year Round (MTYR) Random Draw on February 1st, at 6:00 pm.
The MTYR Random Draw will use your family’s Household ID number to assign your child/children a track for the 2017-2018 school year. Each family has a unique Household ID number that is not duplicated with any other family in the Washoe County School District.
In an effort to make the MTYR Random Draw night a positive and efficient event for all families we are sending a computer generated card listing all children in your household along with your family’s Household ID number. Your family’s Household ID number is how you will locate the track your child/children was/were assigned to at the end of the evening. Due to FERPA and privacy laws, student names will not be used. If you have a child/children in your household that is/are not listed on this card, please take a moment to contact our office staff in order to correct the problem in Infinite Campus.
Please bring this card with you to our MTYR Random Draw.
Thank you for your patience and cooperation while we transition our school from a traditional calendar to a MTYR calendar.
Due to the wild schedule we had last week from the weather, we will be postponing the random draw event to February 1st, at 6:00 pm. Please be sure to complete the track preference form either online, or by paper in the office.
On days that we have a two hour delay, due to weather, classes begin at 11:35. Please do not drop students off prior to 11:15. Also, on these days there is no before school program, nor breakfast.
Office Hours 8:00-4:00
Teacher Hours 8:45-3:45
Student Hours 9:25-3:30
Early release every Wednesday at 2:45
Playground opens in the morning at 9:15
