Libby Booth Elementary School

Mini reconstruction project at Libby Booth Elementary School

Libby Booth Elementary School mini reconstruction project approved

Washoe County School District continues 2023 Facility Modernization Plan (FMP) work at Libby Booth Elementary School.

Libby Booth Elementary School opened in 1956 and was identified in the 2023 FMP as a school to be rebuilt due to the aging infrastructure. A mini reconstruction project was approved for this school with plans to rebuild a new elementary school building on this site in the future. The mini reconstruction project will be completed while classes are underway, and the school site is fully operational.

Highlights:

  • Approved in the 2023 FMP.
  • A new 2-story building will be constructed that will later be part of the new elementary school building.
  • The new space will host a brand-new STEAM Lab, media center/library, and office space.
  • Exterior work will include new exterior paint and a full wall on the school site perimeter adjacent to neighborhoods.
  • Design work is completed and the project will be hard bid for a scheduled start date in December 2026.
  • The anticipated completion date is scheduled for December 2027.
