New CTE Academy opened in August 2025. 

The new career and technical education (CTE) high school, the Debbie Smith CTE Academy, opened in August 2025 and is the second CTE high school in Washoe County School District (WCSD). The school design includes several buildings from the original Procter R. Hug High School. Other buildings were demolished to make room for the new main school building on this campus.   

Highlights:

• A state-of-the-art teaching and learning facility which includes 40 teaching stations, spaces for CTE Academies, and space for high school athletics. 
• A comprehensive high school that includes CTE programming.
• The CTE Academies are:
  • Culinary Arts with Hospitality and Tourism
  • Engineering & Manufacturing
  • Marketing and Multimedia
  • BioMedical
  • Practical Nursing and Nursing Assistant 
  • Natural Resources & Animal Sciences
  • Welding and Metalworking
  • Building Construction and Technology
  • Teaching & Training
• Construction began in November 2022.
• The new school opened its' doors to students in 9th through 12th grades in August 2025. 
• RiSE Academy for Adult Achievement is located on this campus in its own building.
