Capital Funding Protection Committee

Capital Funding Protection Committee

Before funding is spent to build new schools or perform critical repairs at older buildings, the Capital Funding Protection Committee (CFPC) meets to discuss the budget and scope of those projects. The CFPC is a voluntary group comprised of local elected officials from Washoe County, Reno, and Sparks, as well as representatives from industries including construction and gaming. It meets every other month and makes recommendations to the Board of Trustees on the funding for upcoming projects. The Trustees then determine whether to grant final approval to spend money towards these projects. The Oversight Panel for School Facilities is comprised of the same membership as the CFPC and meets annually as required by law.
