Students Read to Make a Better World

The Vaughn M.S. eighth grade ELA classes are reading feverishly this next nine week period attempting to reach their Accelerated Reader (AR) goal and at the same time, hoping to help end world hunger and improve the environment through Heifer International's Read to Feed program. The eighth grade class will be working towards donating an animal to a family somewhere in the world. The type of animal will be determined by the number of AR points the students earn.   The goal of the nonprofit Heifer International organization is to help families achieve self-reliance by providing them the tools they need to sustain themselves.
