UPDATED 2/4/2022
Dear Bohach Families,
A few reminders for the upcoming weeks at Bohach:
2/7 NO SCHOOL: There will be no classes held this MONDAY 2/7/2022. Teachers will be having a professional development day.
New traffic pattern at drop off and pick up: Thank you for your help as we work to help implement systems. The cones in front of the stop sign will remain during the morning only. Please respect the cones.
ONLINE REGISTRATION: Each year families are required to RENEW and update their child’s registration for the upcoming school year. In order to correctly staff our school buildings and help ensure we have enough teachers, families must update their registration. Please log in to the parent portal and update your child’s registration. This is the link: https://washoenv.infinitecampus.org/campus/portal/washoe.jsp
WCSD COVID-19 self screener: WCSD created an updated screener. It is available here: https://www.washoeschools.net/site/handlers/filedownload.ashx?moduleinstanceid=36853&dataid=55365&FileName=WCSD%20Screening%20for%20COVID19%2001-15-2022.pdf
Spring Conferences: Bohach will dismiss at 1:20 daily during spring conference IN TWO WEEKS, February 14-18.
Drop off and pickup: Please heed our warning here. WE HAD A NEAR MISS AT DROPOFF on 1/21/22. A MOTHER AND TODDLER WERE NEARLY HIT IN THE CROSSWALK. THERE IS NO DROPOFF AT RED CURBS. THE PARKING LOT SPEED LIMIT IS 10 MPH. We have also had two vehicles ticketed and fines in school zones are DOUBLE. For everyone’s safety, please drop off at yellow curbs only. Obey the speed limit, put your phones down and PAY ATTENTION. Being in a rush is NOT more important than our lives and livelihood.
From 1/7:
Transportation updates: Due to scheduling changes stemming from critical staffing shortages we are experiencing many late busses. Transportation typically notifies families when the bus is more than 30 minutes late. Often at the school, we do not know when the bus is coming until it gets here. We understand how difficult this is on families and are working with transportation on solutions. We are also very appreciative of our drivers and bus duty teachers who are going above and beyond to ensure student safety even beyond their normal workday.
New plan for smoke days/snow days: WCSD has used 2 contingency days and will be holding classes on June 6 and 7. The next school day that is canceled will necessitate another contingency day, June 8. After we have used all three contingency days there will be a cancelation day where no classes are held. Subsequent days will be virtual learning days.
Days 1 and 2: smoke days called in fall—makeup instruction on June 6 and 7—already utilized.
Day 3* of WCSD canceled classes (has not yet occurred) will trigger the third and final contingency day, June 8.
Day 4* of WCDS cancelation (has not yet occurred) would trigger a CANCELLATION DAY—no classes for students, teachers and staff report as usual to prepare full distance learning if necessary.
Day 5*+ of WCSD canceled classes, instruction would move to full DISTANCE LEARNING
*these days have not yet been utilized for the 21-22 school year.
