October IB Learner Profile attribute– Principled

“We act with integrity and honesty, with a strong sense of fairness and justice, and with respect for the dignity and rights or people everywhere.” “We take responsibility for our actions and their consequences. We do the right thing.”

IB Evaluation Visit

The International Baccalaureate Organization (IBO) will evaluate our IB Middle Years Program next week. They will meet with teachers, staff, students, parents and central office staff. In addition, they will observe student work. This visit will be done via Zoom meetings. We are excited to share the wonderful things that are happening at Vaughn with the IBO as part of our reauthorization.

Attendance Update

Please make sure to fill out the attendance form each day you are at home participating in distance learning.  The form is found on the Eagle Central Team or on the Vaughn Middle School website homepage.  Full-distance learners must fill this out each day, hybrid learners must fill this out only on the days they are scheduled to be at home.  Please do not fill this out for the days you are in-person at Vaughn; your teachers will take your attendance. Entering student attendance is very important because any student that has 10 or more consecutive absences will be withdrawn from Vaughn Middle School, per Nevada State Law.

Vaughn Community:

For the most up-to-date information, as well as to get to know our Vaughn community better, please follow Vaughn Middle School on Facebook (@VaughnEagles) and on Twitter (@VaughnMSEagles).  Also, make sure to check out our weekly Facebook series called “Meet the Eagles” where you will be able to see interviews of staff members.

Open House:

Virtual open house will take place in January.  Details coming soon!

Distance Learner Scheduling

Due to student difficulties with virtual/remote art classes during 1st quarter, we will no longer offer an Arts class to distance learners. Music students and their teachers will consider this option on an individual basis. Distance learners changing to hybrid or in-person learning will be re-enrolled in art class.
