WCSD Invites Families to Community Meetings
District will provide information, hear from families about proposed plans for Pine Middle School and Traner Middle School
What: The Washoe County School District (WCSD) is hosting two community meetings where we will discuss proposed plans to change Pine Middle School and/or Traner Middle School to Pre-K-through-8th-grade schools.
The district is studying whether to make these changes and is gathering public input, ideas, and concerns during community meetings. This is the result of a recommendation in connection with the 2023 Facility Modernization Plan, or FMP.
There are two meetings:
Meeting for families whose students attend Pine Middle School and Dodson, Donner Springs, Hidden Valley, Huffaker, and Smithridge elementary schools
Tuesday, May 21
5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m.
Smithridge Elementary School
4801 Neil Road, Reno
Meeting for families whose students attend Traner Middle School and Cannan, Duncan, Lemelson, and Mathews elementary schools
Thursday, May 23
5:30 to 7 p.m.
Traner Middle School
1700 Carville Dr., Reno
Details: No decisions have been made and WCSD is eager to hear public input at these community meetings where we will share details about the concept. Families will be encouraged to share their thoughts and input.
This meeting will be offered in English and Spanish. Refreshments will be provided.
