Full Distance Learning Model
What: The Washoe County School District (WCSD) Board of Trustees will conduct its regular public meeting.
Trustees are expected to discuss Superintendent Dr. Kristen McNeill’s recommendation to place the entire district on Distance Learning from December 7 to January 19, 2021 due to a lack of community resources to support schools during the pandemic.
At the meeting, face coverings will be required of all attendees and participants and social distancing practices will be strictly observed.

Details: Public comment will be taken during the meeting, and members of the community may also send their comments before or during the meeting to publiccomments@washoeschools.net. These will be provided to the Trustees before and during the meeting and will be entered into the official record.

Other items on the agenda include:
A discussion and presentation regarding distance and blended learning in WCSD. Director of Distance and Blended Learning Jenni Anderson will review learning environments over the last century and explore the future of this innovative way of learning in our district.
Student enrollment has declined this school year, and the Board will hear a presentation about these trends, the financial impact on the District, and outreach efforts to the community.
Trustees will discuss whether to give final approval to proposed zoning changes for Silver Lake ES, Desert Heights ES, Stead ES, and whether to reaffirm current zoning at O’Brien STEM Academy and Cold Springs MS.
