Public Invited to Review Semi-Finalist in New K-5 Science Instructional Materials/Textbook Adoption

Reno, NV (November 16, 2020) – The Washoe County School District (WCSD) Instructional Materials/Textbook Adoption Committee has selected a semi-finalist for the new K-5 Science Instructional Material/textbook. As part of the adoption process, the committee is soliciting public input prior to providing final recommendations to the Washoe County School District Board of Trustees.

Due to coronavirus restrictions, the selected instructional materials/textbook semi-finalist will be available digitally for public viewing and comment from November 16, 2020 to December 2, 2020.

“Soliciting public comment is an important part of our Instructional Materials/Textbook Adoption process,” comments Ellen Badger, WCSD Instructional Materials Facilitator. “We invite family and community members to view the prospective K-5 science instructional materials that will be used to support student learning in the fall of 2021 and provide input to the Instructional Materials Adoption Committee. The perspective of our community is a valued factor in the recommendation the Committee makes to the Board of Trustees.”
