WCSD Board of Trustees to Discuss

Staffing, Budget, Filling Vacant Seat

What: The Washoe County School District (WCSD) Board of Trustees is scheduled to discuss several important topics including: fiscal updates and staffing implications; a discussion surrounding Gov. Sisolak’s Road to Recovery: Moving to a New Normal; and selection of a candidate to fill the District A Trustee seat vacancy.

This regular public meeting will be held in person, and members of the community may submit questions before and during the meeting to publiccomments@washoeschools.net.

Public comment will begin no earlier than 4 p.m.

Face coverings will be required of all attendees, and social distancing will be strictly enforced.

• A presentation and possible action regarding the fiscal and staffing implications related to the enrollment count for the current school year. This includes a possible budget reduction of $12.6 million. 
• A presentation and discussion of Gov. Sisolak’s Road to Recovery: Moving to a New Normal as it applies to WCSD. 
• The selection of a candidate to fill the District A Trustee seat vacancy. At the meeting it is likely that candidates will be interviewed, and the top selection will be appointed.
