Cold Weather Advisory Event to be held at the Getto Transportation Yard
Reno, NV (October 28, 2020) -- Washoe County School District (WCSD) will host a Cold Weather Advisory event tomorrow, Thursday, October 29 at 10 a.m. The event will take place at the Getto Transportation Yard located at 1815 Kleppe Lane in Sparks.
During the event, Superintendent Dr. Kristen McNeill, along with other WCSD leadership and partners, will introduce plans for upcoming winter weather.
Newly appointed Director of Distance and Blended Learning, Jenni Anderson will discuss protocols for distance learning during traditional snow days. Margaret Allen from Student Health Services will explain increases in flu and COVID-19 like symptoms and recommendations to stay safe and healthly, including what to do if symptoms present themselves, and how to get tested. Rick Martin, Director of Transportation, will give an overview of winter bus stops and other transportation protocols during upcoming winter months.
Kendall Inskeep, Executive Director of Washoe Education Alliance will give a shout out to our new Partner in Education, The Big Reno Coat Drive and other resources for our families to stay safe, warm, and connected during the upcoming season.
