What: Local community and business leaders shadow Washoe County School District principals during the annual Principal for a Day Event hosted by the Education Alliance of Washoe County.


The event kick-off begins Thursday, February 6 at the Reno + Sparks Chamber of Commerce at 5:30 p.m.

Details: For half a day on February 7, executives will learn what it is like to be a principal or administrator in the Washoe County School District and about the 64,000 students they serve. This event allows executives to see first-hand what education looks and feels like in our community and gives them the chance to share ideas and establish relationships with those in education.


Kick-off for the event starts the night before at the “Meet your Match" mixer hosted by the Reno + Sparks Chamber of Commerce, where executives will meet their educator match.


Also, the third annual Partner in Education PiE Champion Awards will be presented by the Education Alliance to recognize outstanding business/school partnerships.

Editors’ note: Beginning at 12 p.m. on Friday, February 7, principals and executives will gather for lunch at Renown’s Mack Auditorium where they will discuss their experiences.
