Nominations Open for 2020 Partner in Education PiE Champions

Education Alliance celebrates Partners in Education for third year


Ed alliance logo Reno, NV (January 7, 2020) – Nominations are open for the 2020 Partner in Education PiE Champion Awards hosted by Education Alliance of Washoe County.


The 2020 Awards will recognize generous supporters of Washoe County School District (WCSD) including, but not limited to local businesses, civic organizations, nonprofits, and government agencies. PiE Champions within WCSD schools will also be recognized for their role in fostering partnerships.


This year’s award ceremony will be held at the Reno + Sparks Chamber of Commerce on Thursday, February 6. Nominations are due Friday, January 17, and can be submitted at Nominations will be reviewed based on the duration of the partnership, number of schools supported, level of engagement with students within WCSD, and the dollar and in-kind value of support.


“We spotlight these impactful relationships to recognize the important work being done and to inspire others to get involved,” says Kendall Inskip, executive director of the Education Alliance. “Investing in students and education is just smart business.”


Trophies shaped like a slice of pie were presented to the 2019 PiE Champions at the Meet Your Match mixer hosted at the Reno + Sparks Chamber of Commerce to kick off Principal for a Day 2019. Assistance League of Reno-Sparks, NV Energy, and THE ROW received PiE Champion Awards for their outstanding partnerships with WCSD schools in 2019. Renown and Steak ‘n Shake received PiE Champion Awards in 2018.
