WCSD Launches Recruitment Drive for Custodial Workers

What: Washoe County School District (WCSD) is seeking qualified applicants for numerous position openings for School Custodian Workers. Currently, there are approximately 30 positions open at schools throughout the District. The District is prepared to discuss the situation and provide information about the responsibilities and duties of the custodian positions for interested community members. WCSD Housekeeping and Facilities Management staff will be available for interviews.

When: Wednesday, November 27

           10 a.m.

Where: Nick Poulakidas Elementary School

             9600 Mojave Sky Drive

Details: WCSD is struggling with a need for School Custodians in our Housekeeping Department. Recruitment efforts are ongoing, but despite these efforts, the district has many unfilled positions. The District is reaching out to the community via our media partners to spread the word and provide information about recruitment efforts.

Editors’ Note: Assistant Housekeeping Operations Manager Cindy Crump and Facilities Management Director Charlie Hoppe will be available for interviews to share important information and answer questions. In addition, media partners can photograph and record Poulakidas ES Housekeeping staff in a school site work setting and talk to Site Facility Coordinator Robert Ornelas about the importance of these positions and how they contribute to the success of our students and schools.
