Community Members Sought for WCSD S.H.A.R.E. Committee



Reno, NV (November 7, 2019) – The Washoe County School District (WCSD) is seeking applicants for its Sexuality, Health, and Responsibility Education (S.H.A.R.E.) Advisory Committee in the categories of parent/guardian and religion.


For the parent/guardian category, eligible individuals must have a child enrolled at a school in the Washoe County School District. For the second opening, eligible applicants must be from a religion profession or occupation.


The S.H.A.R.E. Advisory Committee evaluates and makes recommendations to the Board of Trustees related to the District’s S.H.A.R.E. curriculum, which includes health promotion and risk reduction within the context of the world in which students live; the health and safety of the human reproductive system; abstinence, consent, and refusal skills; and positive attitudes and healthy relationships, in all life settings.


The committee generally meets monthly on Wednesdays at 5:30 p.m. To apply, please submit an online application by clicking here before 5 p.m. on November 22, 2019.
