WCSD Board of Trustees Changes Public Meeting Time
Trustees hope later meeting time will encourage more to attend
Reno, NV (April 10, 2019) -- At its regular public meeting yesterday, the Washoe County School District (WCSD) Board of Trustees voted to change the board meeting time from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. on the second and fourth Tuesdays of each month. The decision was made in response to requests from members of WCSD staff and the community who have been unable to attend meetings that began earlier in the day.
The change will take effect on July 1, and the Board will re-evaluate the new meeting time in one year.
“We strive to be responsive to the members of our staff and our community, and we want to make it more convenient for them to attend our meetings and provide input,” said WCSD Board President Katy Simon Holland. “It’s important for us to maintain as much transparency as possible in our work, and we hope this change in meeting times will enable more people to come, listen, and provide public comment. We welcome everyone, and look forward to seeing them at future meetings.”
Meetings typically take place at the Administration Building at 425 E. Ninth St. in Reno, and are scheduled at school sites at least one time during the year. Agendas are posted online during the week before each meeting at https://www.washoeschools.net/Page/517#calendar751/20190408/month
