Preparing for the Future:
Reno High School Students Learn Job Interview Skills
What: Reno High School Junior Interview Project and Career Fair
When: Thursday, November 8
7:40 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
Where: Reno High School
395 Booth St.
Details: The Junior Interview and Career Fair is a collaborative effort of Reno High School parents, Reno High Booster Club, students, teachers, and members of the community, including Peppermill Resort Spa Casino. Reno High School juniors develop a resume and learn basic interview techniques, then practice what they’ve learned during a mock interview.
Community volunteers whose experience spans a range of industries (judges, attorneys, small business owners, retired professionals) conduct one-on-one interviews with students. Each interview lasts for about 20 minutes and concludes with feedback from the interviewer.
Students also visit a Career Fair. Some of the businesses represented this year include:
• Renown Regional Medical Center
• Eriksen Framing
• Wood Rodgers
• Washoe County District Attorney’s Office
• Wells Fargo
• Reno Police Department
• Nevada’s Center for Entrepreneurship and Technology
• The Discovery Museum
