WCSD Earns National Ranking as

Best School District in Nevada

Reno, NV (January 16, 2018) – The Washoe County School District (WCSD) has been named the “best school district in Nevada” by Niche, a company that researches and compiles information on schools. The ranking includes key factors such as the strength of academics, health and safety, diversity, and the quality of teachers.

The list of school districts singled out for recognition is available here. For more information about the methodology used to rank school districts nationwide, click here.

“We are happy to hear that WCSD was ranked highest in the state, especially since the company considered so many important factors when making its decision,” said WCSD Superintendent Traci Davis. “I join with Niche, our outstanding faculty members, and our dedicated staff members in applauding the hard work that takes place in our classrooms, schools, and offices every day.”

Statistics obtained from the U.S. Department of Education represent the most recent data available, usually from 2014–2016, as self-reported by the school districts. Niche also collects data directly from schools.
