It’s time to fall into learning. November will concentrate on lessons about courage. Courage to stand up to bullying, help others, be an individual and strive your best. Our Civil Rights and Me Lesson will teach students about gender respect, gender harassment, and the concept of Bystander v. Upstander. These topics reinforce the Social Emotional Learning components of self-awareness, self-management, social awareness, relationship skills, and responsible decision making. Please encourage students to End the Hate…Change the Culture!
Mark your calendar! November 14 is the 8th grade Career Expo. Students will have an opportunity to learn about in-demand college and career opportunities in Northern Nevada that will prepare them for lifelong career success and give them a jump-start on their future. The event will provide critical access to and understanding of career opportunities, as well as exposure to the resources available for early preparation for success. Permission slips must be returned by November 8. Please see the WCSD website for more information https://www.washoeschools.net/Page/5564.
