The Office of Communications and Community Engagement proactively pitches stories to local, state, and national media outlets to enhance the District’s reputation and handles issue management for media requests. Our staff works particularly with local media outlets to provide stories, facts, and information about important topics that impact our District and the community. We also provide media training, talking points, organize media events and briefings, develop media kits, and engage District experts for media interviews. Our staff also coordinates with the media at all levels during a crisis providing up-to-date, accurate information as it becomes available. We also monitor and collect data on daily media activity for WCSD and key staff members.
