The Washoe County School District Family Guide to Learning (listed below in English and Spanish) was developed to support the Nevada Academic Content Standards (NVACS). These guides will give you an overview of the grade level content and explain what your child will be learning. The information in these guides will assist you in providing support for your child throughout the school year.

Suggestions for use:
- Share at home visits (help families set up a literacy area at home during the visit, etc.)
- Discuss at parent conferences or other parent meetings
- Use during Literacy nights or other events families attend at the school (use with curriculum guides)
- Expose students to the guides in class and have them do one of the suggested activities at home with their family that night and share the next day
- Share at PLC’s or a staff meeting
