    Support all students in achieving academic success by offering optional means of acquiring a superior education.

     

    Eligibility

    All courses offered by Extended Studies are only available to students currently enrolled full time in a Washoe County School District school.

     

    Job Experience and Training Course available through your school starting Summer 2019

     

     Extended Studies Summer Hours: 8am - 4pm

    Our Office will be closed July 4th and 5th in observance of the July 4th holiday.

Course/Program Description
Community Service Students may earn a ½ elective credit by submitting evidence of 60 hours of community service
Homeschool Registration An option for parents who wish to educate their children at home.
HS Summer Graduation Seniors completing their graduation requirements during the summer are eligible to participate in the Summer graduation ceremony.
Physical Education (PE) Students may earn a ½ PE credit per semester by taking group classes at an approved fitness facility. Students must participate in 60 hours of scheduled group classes taught by a certified instructor (video classes are not accepted) within the semester to earn credit. Students must complete a final project at the conclusion of the semester
Supervised Curriculum Physical Education (SCPE) Students may earn a ½ PE credit per semester by participating in an approved pre-professional/ competitive sport
