WCSD Seeking Applicants for Committees

The Washoe County School District (WCSD) is looking for members of the community who have time to volunteer and would like to make a difference in the district by serving on WCSD committee.

There are several openings on committees that help advise the Board of Trustees and provide a variety of perspectives regarding educational programs, safety, operations, financial reporting, maintenance, and support services.

Current Committee Openings:

• Capital Funding Protection Committee/Oversight Panel for School Facilities - 1 member who is a representative of the gaming industry for a term ending June 30, 2027, pursuant to NRS 393.092.
• Council on Family Resource Centers - 2 community members for one term ending June 30, 2027 and one term ending June 30, 2028.
• School Naming Committee - 1 Representative from Trustee District C for a term ending June 30, 2028.
• Student Attendance Advisory Committee - 1 Washoe County School District teacher or counselor for a term ending June 30, 2028.
• Zoning Advisory Committee - 1 Trustee Zone E Representative, 1 Trustee Zone G Representative, 1 At-Large Representative, and 1 School Administrator for terms ending June 30, 2028; and 1 Certified Teacher/Counselor Representative and 1 Educational Support Staff Representative for terms ending June 30, 2027
