8th Grade science

Students will use thrree dimensions of science to master the performance expectations from the Next Generation Science Standards. The three dimensions of science are: Disciplinary Core Ideas, Crosscutting Concepts, and Scientific and Engineering Practices. The core ideas students will explore in middle school science are Physical, Life, Earth/Space, Engineering,Technology, and  Application Sciences. Students will use  scientific and engineering practicesto investigate a proposed question, concept, or problem. This  type of inquiry will require students to formulate questions, explore hypotheses, design experiments, collect data, and share explanations and conclusions. Students will then connect scientific concepts by considering patterns, cause and effect, and making real world connections.
