This is achieved through ongoing communication with all stakeholders, providing resources for a continuum of opportunities for students, and ensuring students have resiliency and a strong voice through advocacy to achieve their highest potential.As part of the Office Student Services, our departments are comprised of schools and programs within the district designed to support students, families, and schools. Michael Doering came to Washoe County School District in 2006 from Clark County School District, where he worked for fifteen years. While in Las Vegas, he earned two Masters of Education degrees at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas in Educational Leadership and Counseling and Educational Psychology. He did his undergraduate studies in his home state of Iowa, where he obtained a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from the University of Iowa in Studio Art. Mr. Doering is committed to supporting students, families, and schools to ensure that all students in WCSD graduate college and career ready. Victor Sherbondy grew up in Minden/Gardnerville NV where he went to Douglas High School. From there he attended the University of Nevada, Reno for both his BS in Education and later his Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership. Mr. Sherbondy has worked in Washoe County School District for the past 22 years as a social studies/AP History teacher, basketball and golf coach, implementation specialist, college and career coordinator, dean of students, assistant principal and principal. Mr. Sherbondy loves helping students (pre-k to adult) find their passion and reach their goals. Mr. Sherbondy is also committed to supporting all WSCD schools, programs and department to ensure WCSD is a natural partner in the Washoe community. He enjoys spending time with his family (wife, son, daughter and mom) and his interests include fishing, playing golf, landscaping, interior remolding projects, Real Estate and traveling around the country.
