Welcome to Sexuality Health And Responsibility Education (S.H.A.R.E.)
Mission:
In line with WCSD’s commitment to supporting parents to make informed decisions about their child’s education, The Washoe County School District's Sexuality, Health And Responsibility Education (S.H.A.R.E.) program provides students with a factual, comprehensive, abstinence-based instructional program delivered by specially trained teachers, counselors, and/or school nurses addressing: Healthy Relationships, HIV/AIDS awareness, reproductive system health, Sexually Transmitted Infections (STI's) and sexual responsibility.
Major Function:
The S.H.A.R.E. program assists students in making informed choices and avoiding behaviors that put them at risk. The S.H.A.R.E. program complies with the Nevada Revised Statute 389.036 and WCSD Board Policy 6140.
S.H.A.R.E. Permission: Students must have parental permission to participate in S.H.A.R.E. and the "Opt-in" form for S.H.A.R.E. is part of Infinite Campus Student Registration.

Who Teaches S.H.A.R.E.?
- 4th-5th grade: School Counselors, Classroom Teachers, and/or School Nurses
- 6th-8th grade: Science Teachers
- High School: Health Teacher or ROTC
