About Nutrition Services
Nutrition Services administers child nutrition programs in more than 100 sites throughout Washoe County and the Washoe County School District. The Sparks-based nutrition services center features a central production kitchen and food distribution warehouse. This facility provides breakfast and/or lunch to all school cafeterias, as well as some area charter schools.
The Washoe County School District partners with Southwest Food Excellence. SFE is a premier foodservice management provider that is dedicated exclusively to building K-12 nutrition programs. Together, we nourish students to reach their highest potential through superior food with more focus on fresh-from-scratch, more menu options, and more onsite support than any other K-12 provider.
