Family Information

MTSS, or Multi-Tiered System of Supports, is a way schools support students in many areas—not just in academics, but also behavior, attendance, and social-emotional learning.

The MTSS process helps ensure that each student receives the support they need, whether that’s extra help with academics, guidance with behavior, or learning important life skills like managing emotions and building positive relationships. 

Family involvement plays an important role in a student's education and has a positive impact on student achievement. Families are partners within the MTSS process. Communication and teamwork throughout the MTSS process improves results for all students.  *En español  

MTSS, o Sistema de Apoyos de Múltiples Niveles, es una manera en que las escuelas apoyan a los estudiantes en muchas áreas—no solo en lo académico, sino también en el comportamiento, la asistencia y el aprendizaje socioemocional.

El proceso de MTSS ayuda a asegurar que cada estudiante reciba el apoyo que necesita, ya sea ayuda adicional en lo académico, orientación en el comportamiento o el desarrollo de habilidades importantes como manejar emociones y construir relaciones positivas.

La participación familiar juega un papel importante en la educación del estudiante y tiene un impacto positivo en su rendimiento académico. Las familias son compañeras dentro del proceso MTSS. La comunicación y el trabajo en equipo a lo largo del proceso MTSS mejoran los resultados para todos los estudiantes.

The Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS), to include PBIS, and Family Involvement

Family involvement plays an important role in student achievement, and has a positive impact on student achievement.  Families are partners within the MTSS process.  Families need information about the process when their child is first identified as possibly at-risk or is struggling in school.  Communication and teamwork throughout the MTSS process improves results for all students. 

Social Emotional Learning (SEL) is the ongoing process of developing skills to understand and manage our emotions, make thoughtful decisions, and sustain meaningful relationships. SEL has always been an integral part of education and human development.
