School Volunteers and Privacy

The U.S. Department of Education has federal laws that protect a student's privacy.  The Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act protects information related to a student's education.  Volunteers in our schools also need to adhere to FERPA laws.  Please watch the video below for additional explanation of FERPA and a volunteer's responsibility to maintain privacy.
