List of Approved and Non-Approved Inservice
Nevada Department of Education (NDE) Micro-Credentials
Due to the challenges in consistently aligning the Nevada Department of Education (NDE) micro-credentials with our Washoe County School District (WCSD) Inservice requirements, these micro-credentials will only be eligible for professional learning hours unless an Inservice application is submitted and approved in advance.
If you are interested in using an NDE micro-credential for Inservice credit, please be sure to complete and receive approval for the appropriate application prior to participation. This process ensures that all professional learning opportunities align with district guidelines for salary advancement.
To count for salary advancement, a course must:
- Occur outside of contract time for a minimum of 7.5 hours AND
- Have focused content related to the existing license of the educator OR
- Have focused content related to a current or upcoming course of the educator (if not in an area in which the educator is licensed) OR
- Have content related to general areas for all teachers click here for an example list
When there is no graduate level course unable to fulfill a professional learning need, educators can apply for pre-approval of an undergraduate course by clicking here.
