What Does It Mean to Be Self-Funded?

The WCSD Health Insurance Fund is self-funded. This means WCSD pays the claims for our members directly.
Example: If you’re on the PPO plan and visit an in-network doctor, you pay your co-pay, and WCSD covers the rest of the claim.
