Program Applications
Please Note:
- GATE eligibility is required prior to submitting an application.
- Once a student is identified as GATE, families will receive an opt-in form to accept GATE services. This form is required before a student can participate in any GATE model or program and only needs to be completed once when the student is identified as gifted. If a student is applying to a special program, such as SWAS or Magnet, we must have the application as well as the opt-in form on file.
- The GATE Department uses program-specific applications to determine student placement into SWAS and Magnet programs. These placements are not determined through the School of Choice process.
2025-2026 School Year
Magnet Program - Middle School
Standard placement in the Magnet Program is offered to GATE students entering 6th or 7th grade. Students are not newly placed midyear or as 8th graders. Current Magnet students will not need to fill out any paperwork for the following school year.
The application window for the Magnet Program will be open from October 6 through October 24th. Please use the following link to apply https://forms.office.com/r/s33Cjr7Lmw.
High-achieving students who are not GATE-identified may be invited to apply to the Magnet–AAP Program at Archie Clayton Middle School. Families of eligible students will receive an email with additional information and instructions on how to apply.
SWAS Program - Elementary School
Incoming 3rd grade students and newly identified 4th grade students eligible for the program will receive an invitation to commit to the SWAS Program. We are continuing the process of determining who is eligible for the SWAS program and families will receive a letter if their student qualifies.
