PTHV Week

25-26PTHVWeekMMG1 (PDF)

We had an amazing Parent Teacher Home Visits Week! Below you will find a summary of the impact of PTHV Week 2025!

  • During PTHV Week 2025 we had 138 WCSD staff members conduct home visits at 20 schools!
  • Those staff connected with 144 families!

Schools with the most household visits during PTHV Week:

  • Lemmon Valley Elementary School -  visited 40 households
  • Bernice Mathews Elementary School - visited 23 households
  • Desert Skies Middle School - visited 15 households

Thank you to schools and staff who shared the power of home visits by hosting ride- along home visits with three of our Board of Trustees.

  • Trustee Phoenix attended with staff from Stead ES (Omara Grass & Erica Van Nieuwenhuyzen.
  • Trustee Mayberry attended with staff from Whitehead ES (Lorabelle Hardisty & Londy Hidalgo).
  • Trustee Nicolet attended with staff from Cold Springs Early Childhood Learning Center (Laurie Henderson & Lisa Hahner).

Parent Teacher Home Visits Week

Parent Teacher Home Visits is celebrating 28 years of building relationships of trust through home visits!  Washoe County School District has been using this strategy for 15 years.  To celebrate, we are dedicating the week of September 15-20 to observe Parent Teacher Home Visits. This year, there are 44 schools participating in the Parent Teacher Home Visits program.  Our goal for Parent Teacher Home Visits week is to bring awareness, interest and recognize our school staff that go above and beyond to make authentic relationships of trust through home visits.
