1. Check the district website for scheduled test dates under Assessment Calendars, (https://www.washoeschools.net/Page/347) or look up scheduled tests by school on the CollegeBoard and ACT websites.
2. Contact the test coordinator at the student’s zoned high school at the beginning of the school year, or at least 4 months prior to the scheduled test date.
3. If the test will be offered at the zoned school, the test coordinator will provide information on what the student will need to do in order to be included in the testing group.
4. Advanced Placement (AP): Not all schools may offer all tests. CollegeBoard can assist students/families in finding a school location that is offering a specific AP course test. Visit: AP Students  (https://apstudent.collegeboard.org/)

1. Complete the “Notice of Intent of Homeschooled Child to Participate in Programs and Activities”.
2. On or before the fifth (5^th) day of the beginning of the semester

             •To participate in a course: submit the completed form to your zoned school requesting, in writing, the class

               your child wishes to participate in.

             •To participate in a sport: submit the completed form to your zoned school requesting, in writing, the sport

               your child seeks to participate in.

      3.  On or before the eleventh (11th) day of the beginning of the semester, the principal will inform the student and

           parent whether the request will be accepted or denied.

      4. Once enrolled in a class or sport, the homeschool student must abide by all WCSD and school rules regarding 

          attendance, behavior, grading, book deposits, and program-specific requirements, such as attendance at

          performances and special rehearsals.  It is the student/parent responsibility to be aware of school schedules,

          which may rotate or change on a daily basis.

This is a one-time filing and does not need to be refiled unless the name or address of the parent or student changes, or the student is reentering homeschooling after being enrolled in public school.

The Notice of Intent to Homeschool form is required for children from ages 6 to 18.

No, the parent/guardian is assuming full responsibility for the education of the child while the child is being homeschooled to include all curriculum and books.
