Newcomer Information

The WCSD defines a Newcomer student as:

• A new arrival to the country whose primary or home language is not English and who does not meet proficiency criteria on a state approved language proficiency assessment.

  For School Staff:

Please follow the guidelines on our Insight web page for registering/enrolling students who are new to the country (you must be logged in to view staff resources). Do not send students/families to Edison or to the NWC at Libby Booth without first contacting Nicholas Rhea to make an appointment. (Contact information in Insight).
