Intuit Inc., the global financial technology platform that makes Intuit TurboTax, Credit Karma, QuickBooks, and Mailchimp, on December 7, 2023 launched a technical and entrepreneurial educational program by donating a fully operational food truck to Washoe County School District with curriculum to teach high school students how to run and operate a small business.
The food truck at Reed High School is equipped with a commercial-grade kitchen (including fryers, cook top, refrigerator, freezer, prep fridge, solar power, etc.) allowing students to build real-world, hands-on skills and experiences in a professional context and setting. With the assistance of graphic design students at Spanish Springs High School, Reed High School's culinary program, created the "Global Streets Foods" food truck at Reed High School with a focus on global cuisines.
