WCSD’s Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps (JROTC) programs build leadership, discipline, and teamwork. Students gain hands-on experience through activities like drill, color guard, and community service while developing confidence, responsibility, and a sense of purpose. JROTC empowers students to become leader in and out of uniform.

The Washoe County School District Police Department (WCSDPD) is a fully accredited law enforcement agency dedicated to keeping our schools safe. With officers stationed across campuses, WCSD School Police work closely with staff, students, and local agencies to ensure secure and supportive learning environments for all.

WCSD’s Nutrition Services team fuels student success with chef-prepared meals made from whole, local ingredients. Meals are cooked from scratch in our central kitchen and served daily in schools across the district. With registered dietitians on staff, student taste-testing events, and partnerships with local farms, our menus are both nutritious and delicious.

Getting students to school safely is our top priority. WCSD’s Transportation Department operates over 260 routes daily, providing reliable service across the district. We also partner with RTC for the Youth Ride Free program, offering students no-cost access to public transit for school, work, and community activities.
