Cold Springs Middle School Early Childhood Center

No uniforms will be required for EC students 

• Breakfast will be provided for full day students and for students who attend ½ day in the morning session.  
• EC students will eat lunch in the cafeteria on a rotation to ensure they are the only students in the lunchroom during their lunch times. They will be provided with a WCSD hot lunch if they do not bring a lunch from home.  

Typical peers will be selected according to the screening criteria provided by the Family and Child Services Department. 

Yes, if a student has related services written into their IEP, they will receive the services as outlined. The consolidation of the programs will increase the efficiency of this service provision, as the providers can provide services in one location, instead of travelling to multiple locations.  

Only students who have transportation written into their IEP will receive transportation to the EC center. Typical peers and students in the NV Ready program will not receive transportation.  

Yes, teacher assistants are assigned to the program. Hours will be consistent with programs around WCSD.  

EC students will enter and exit the building through a locked exterior door, separate from where the middle school students enter and exit.   

• There will be one indoor playground as well as outside play equipment.   
• Indoor- play structure designed for young learners, sensory play equipment, soft toys, etc  
• Outdoor-tricycles, balls, hoops, etc  

• The classroom teacher will be responsible for PE, and music and library will be scheduled for the classes. 
• Age-appropriate technology use is part of the Nevada PreK Standards and is built into the curriculum 

Classrooms will use the Frog Street curriculum, which will be provided by WCSD.

• Full day EC programs: Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday, 9:30-3:30 
• ½ day EC programs: am session 9:30-12:00; pm session 1:00-3:30;  
• EC strategies programs: Monday-Friday, 10:15-3:30 (Wednesday Early release: 10:45-2:45) 

Before and after school programs are not offered 

Only students who have IEPs and have transportation as a related service are eligible to receive transportation.
