Sara Cunningham

I am deeply humbled and honored to serve as an Area Superintendent of Elementary Education. After spending my own educational journey as a student within the Washoe County School District, I have had the privilege of serving in various roles. I began my career teaching at Bernice Mathew Elementary School in 2001 before beginning my leadership path at Libby Booth Elementary School, where I served as an Assistant Principal and Principal. After seven years at Libby Booth, I moved on to be the Principal at Donner Springs Elementary School. From 2019-2023, I represented the northwest region of the state as the Director of the Northwest Regional Professional Development Program.  As an educator, I pride myself on being an advocate for building strong foundations for our youngest learners, partnering with families and the community, and developing excellent teachers and leaders in every building.
