As a native Nevadan, Dr. Joel Peixoto (pay-SHOW-toe) is proud to serve his northern Nevada community.  Dr. Peixoto was raised in Fallon, Nevada where he graduated from high school before attending the University of Nevada, Reno for his undergraduate degree.  He continued to attend post-graduate school, earning a MS in Education, MS in Leadership in Educational Administration, and various certificates and endorsements.  He received his Doctorate in Education (Ed. D.) in Educational Leadership from UNR in May 2024.  Professionally, he has worked as a teacher, instructional coach, assistant principal, principal, and now a proud area superintendent of secondary schools for the Washoe County School District (WCSD).  He is an active and vocal educator, supporting his direct community, students, staff, fellow administrators, and serving as a voice and representative within the WCSD.  Civically for the Reno/Sparks areas, Dr. Peixoto has served as a board member, volunteer, artist, donor, supporter, organizer, active member, leader, and participant for and in multiple organizations, non-profit, programs, and events.  He continues to become more and more involved each year, utilizing his talents, education, drive, and skill to impact his community and make a difference to move the Reno/Sparks area into a positive direction.
