• 2022-2023 Transportation Areas and Calendars for Rotating Service

Depoali - Area 1   No Transportation Area 1 week of September 12-16, 2022

The Transportation Department is responsible for a bus fleet of 371 buses and 408 other district-owned vehicles which require annual licensing, preventative maintenance and service.  School buses pick up and deliver students to various school sites within the district and then return to the bus yard for overnight staging.

Any questions or concerns regarding the buses, bus schedules, late busses, zoning or special-needs transportation buses, please refer to the Transportation Department website or call the Transportation Communications Center / Dispatch Office directly at 337-7769.

Beginning the second week of school, bus riders will be required to scan their student ID in order to ride the bus. Students who repeatedly forget their ID will receive a bus citation per board policy 5100. We know some students do not have their ID yet, but will make sure each students has an ID by the second week of school.

Permission Bus Notes  (due to Covid-19 restrictions, bus notes are not being issued at this time.)

When students wish to ride a bus home with a friend or ride a bus other than their regular bus, they must present an approved bus note from the office to the bus driver.  These can be obtained by the parent/guardian calling the office or students bringing a note to the office before lunch time is over.  Please note, the office must verify all written notes by calling a parent/guardian.  A note from a parent/guardian by itself is not sufficient for the driver to allow the student to board the bus. Students who do not have an approved bus note from the office prior to the bell ringing at the end of the day will be required to take their normal mode of transportation home as timely bus departures do not allow enough time for late phone verification.
