Mr. Jeffrey W. Lindhorst
Jeffrey Lindhorst received his B.S. in Music Education in 1986 at the University of Missouri-St. Louis under the instruction of Dr. James R. Richards. He also studied violin for four years with Mr. Silvian Itcovici-former Assistant Concertmaster of the St. Louis Symphony Orchestra. Jeffrey Lindhorst received his Master’s Degree in Music Education and Performance from the Southern Illinois University at Edwardsville, where he studied violin with Dr. Kent Perry and workshops with John Kendall. He has taught Orchestra classes for 32 years in the Ferguson-Florissant, Rockwood, Parkway, Ladue School Districts and Washoe County Schools.
His Orchestras have received straight Superior Ratings at the Local, National and International Festivals. Currently, he is enjoying his 3rd year teaching as the Orchestra Director of Sparks High School and North Valleys High School. Lindhorst is a member of the American String Teachers Association and has been an Adjudicator for Nevada All State Orchestra, Washoe County School District Honor Orchestra and Adjudicator for the Northern Nevada Solo and Ensemble Festival.
Mr. Lindhorst received the Hall of Fame Award in 2017 from the St. Louis Suburban Music Educators. This award is presented to a retired Outstanding Music Educator for their life long contribution of excellence in Music Education and serving in many capacities local and state level contributions.
Mr. Lindhorst enjoys performing violin in orchestras. Currently, he continues his musical career performing as the Concertmaster of the Toccata Tahoe Symphony Orchestra and Chorus. He performed with the St. Louis Philharmonic for fifteen concert seasons. He served as concertmaster for the Clayton Symphony Orchestra. He is served as the concertmaster of the Town and Country Symphony Orchestra for ten years. He has performed as violin soloist with both the St. Charles Symphony Orchestra and the Town and Country Symphony Orchestra.
He performed with the professional Ballet Orchestra of St. Louis, the Gateway Symphony Orchestra and has played in professional orchestras backing up for musical greats such as: Luciano Pavarotti, The Moody Blues, Vince Gill, Lou Rawls, Dionne Warwick, Barry Manilow, Sissell, Manhatten Transfer, Smoky Robinson, Gladys Knight, Louise Mandrell, Amy Grant and Bernadette Peters.
His hobbies include cycling, hiking in the Tahoe region and hopes to include fly fishing.
