Mission Statement
The Labor Relations Department represents the Washoe County School District in all labor and employment matters regarding employee discipline, complaints and grievances, as well as negotiations, interpretation of collective bargaining agreements, unemployment hearings, and ADAAA meetings, and seeks to advance the District's mission by providing critical support to the process of hiring, screening, and retaining high-quality employees, coaches and volunteers.Major Functions
The Labor Relations Department has the responsibilities of:- Labor and Employment Issues
- Negotiations with bargaining units
- Processing and monitoring all staff complaints
- Provides support to all levels of administrative staff in the processing of complaints and grievances
- Processes the fingerprint returns for all staff and volunteers
- Provides representation of the District through unemployment hearings
- Processes, in collaboration with Risk Management, all ADAAA requests and meetings
