Emergency Substitutes

  • All Emergency License Applications and District Forms MUST be complete by November 1st

  • The first step to becoming an Emergency Substitute Teacher is applying for your Emregency Sub License.

    You can apply for your license with the Nevada Department of Education

    You will need;

    • A copy of your High school Diploma
    • Your Driver's License or State ID
    • Signed District form

    You can email the District form filled out to the Sub Office and recieve a signed form back.

    You will pay a $180 application fee

    You will then get fingerprinted for your licensure at averified agency (List supplied by the Department of Ed)

    *IF YOU HAVE 60 COLLEGE CREDITS OR MORE, COMPLETE A STANDARD SUBSTITUTE LICENSE APPLICATION*

     

    While your license is processing you will start your Washoe Schools Application

    To start a new application you will slect "Create Account" then you will chose a "Certified" application type.

    You will be required to complete;

    • Work Experience
    • Work Experience Involving Children (Past and Present - Emails required)
    • 4 Professional Confidential Refrences (Email required)
    • Upload of your Emergency Sub License

    Once you recieve your Emergency Sub License from the State, you will email the Sub Office to have your application reviewed. You will recieve the New Hire Steps shortly after via email.
