Keep Truckee Meadows Beautiful (KTMB): a wonderful organization that supports enviromental causes in Reno. Any of their community service clean ups and beautification events count for approved hours.

OTHER REQUESTS ELIGIBLE FOR APPROVED HOURS:
SPCA: This is a special chance for any Knight or Lady to volunteer without a parent even if you are under 16 years old. Have your parent/guardian fill out a form.
The volunteer would need to complete a 1.5 hour ACB training session with a staff member, then 10 additional hours at the facility practicing what was taught in the training session. All of the training hours will count for approved.
Saturday September 25 from 9:00am - Noon: KTMB Truckee River Clean Up. Volunteers will join KTMB at local parks along the river and throughout the watershed to complete projects that improve the health of the river. Projects include litter pick up, invasive weed removal and abatement, storm drain stenciling, and others. KTMB projects are always for approved hours and their work in incredibly important to the health of Reno.
Tuesday October 12: KTMB Fall Clean Up. All members are required to participate in this activity in the Fall and in the Spring. This is one of two neighborhood clean ups that we do each year. All students are required to do both. Meet Mrs. M. at the school entrance about 2:45 pm. We will get the supplies and do the clean up. With everyone present it should last an hour or less.
Saturday/Sunday Oct 16 & 17: McQueen Craft Faire is back!!! Knights and Ladies are all required to volunteer for this event for at least one four hour shift. There is a podium where volunteers check in at back parking lot entrance. Ask for Kim Greene at the podium. She will assign you a job and she will sign off your hours when completed.
Here are the Craft Faire time slots available for floaters (walking the Faire, giving breaks and running errands for the crafters):

Thursday October 28 at 5:00pm: Rollan Melton Harvest Festival. Melton had the most amazing virtual festival last year and plans to present the real thing this year! The festival is quickly approaching. They are looking for volunteers to help from 4-7pm.
Saturday December 4, 8am - noon. Santaland at Westergard. There will likely be some changes on how this wonderful event is presented to the children and we are still very much needed. They need elves to help the little ones go shopping. More on this as the time approaches. They will need all us as they are trying to recruit at least 20 volunteers.
Winter Break 2021, December 26 - January 10: KTMB Christmas Tree Recycling! Sign-up with your friends, family, or club members, and spend a little time collecting and recycling Christmas Trees at any of the three drop-off locations - Bartley Ranch Park, Reno Sports Complex, or Shadow Mountain Sports Complex from December 26th through January 10th. Monday 1/17: MLK Day BioBlitz the Truckee Meadows Parks Foundation with wetland clean up. The link takes you to the homepage. The sign up for MLK Day is toward the top of the page under the Registration Tab for MLK Day.
Saturday Feb 12, 8:30 am - 11:00 am Valentine Breakfast at Melton Elementary. They are looking for volunteers to help with the event. Sign up at our January 20 Meeting.
