      CRITICAL NEED FOR SUBSTITUTE TEACHERS:

       

      Governor Sisolak has issued an emergency regulation in response to the extreme shortage of substitute teachers.  This regulations allows anyone who is 18 years or older with a high school diploma, the opportunity to become a substitute teacher for Washoe County School District.

       

      If you are interested in gaining real experience in classrooms or via remote instruction, the steps are as follows:

      First:Apply for an Emergency Substitute Teaching License.Click Here for Nevada Department of Education Application Portal.

      Second:Apply to become a substitute teacher (guest teacher) with the Washoe County School District WCSD Substitute Teaching Application

      Note: The daily pay rate for substitute teachers in WCSD is $45 for ½ day and $90 for a full day.
