• WCSD COVID-19 Case Status Report

PLEASE NOTE, a positive case reported by WCSD does not mean that individuals contracted COVID-19 at a WCSD school or any other building.

The Washoe County School District is monitoring the health of our students and staff and publicly sharing active COVID-19 positive cases in our school district. Proactive reporting is part of our commitment to our community. Our families and employees are notified whenever there is a positive COVID-19 case in their building.  At that point, the Washoe County Health District begins contact tracing to determine exposure and then makes all determinations on which students and staff will be excluded from a building.

If the Washoe County Health District (WCHD) contact tracing determines that exposure to a student or employee who has tested positive meets the requirements for mandated precautionary quarantine, families and staff will be immediately advised. A precautionary quarantine does not mean that an employee or student is sick or will become sick. Precautionary quarantine is a WCHD mandated practice to ensure the safety of the student or employee, as well as those teaching and learning around them.

Please note, below active cases are listed. These are not outbreaks. Outbreaks are defined as two or more laboratory-confirmed COVID-19 cases among students or staff with onsets within a 14-day period, who are epidemiologically linked, do not share a household, and were not identified as close contacts of each other in another setting during standard care investigation or contact tracing.
