Kindergarten expectations provide digital citizenship curriculum aligned with the ISTE Student Standards framework as well as alignment to NVACS, AASL, and CASEL . The kindergarten recommendations help students formulate answers to questions such as: “How do you go to places safely on the computer? What kinds of information should you keep to yourself when you use the Internet? How can you use the alphabet to find things online?” Students are expected to learn and practice basic rules for computer use and online searching. Students are also expected to identify private information and to create effective usernames to protect private information. Artifacts created through lessons, should be used to reinforce learning throughout the school year. Through these practices, students will demonstrate understanding of grade-appropriate digital use.
